Advertising: TV Commercial

For Advertising Class, we had to make a 30 second long TVC as part of our assignment. We decided to film using the stop-motion method. Our product of choice is HACKS medicated cough sweets, with the concept of turning irritation into relaxation.

Example, an old car with loud and intruding engine noise compared to a sports car with smooth revving engine sound.

Our idea behind the TVC is to let people know that with HACKS you can turn life's little irritation into something sweet.

Here is how we proceed with our shooting.

First we prepare several different models of our subject.

We then use foam board to create the gravel road, setting the camera in a fixed position. A ruler was used to measure the distance between each model for smoother animation.

We start shooting from the first scene, where an old car drives past the frame. Once our lecturer approved of the animation style and quality, we proceed with the next scenes.

Shooting for scenes two and three, where HACKS 'displays' its 'superpowers' before a sports car drives past the frame.

Here's the part for the old car, sound effects added.
