Drawing ---> With Pen

For semester 2 Basic Drawing class, we were taught to draw and shade using pen. It was very interesting because using a pen means you cannot erase mistakes. This taught us how to carefully visualise and test try first before going directly onto our original piece of artwork.

Week 1: Lines

We leanrt contour drawing, blind contour drawing and gesture drawing. Hands are forever the most mysterious
Week 2: Rendering technique

Render, or shade gives form and shape to our drawing, It makes them look more realistic and tangible because it provides depth.
I tried stippling for the organic shape because I thought lines will not be suitable for something with an unfixed form. The one below is shaded with a strong light source coming from below. The one on the upper right is of similar gesture but with a weak light source from below. The last one on the bottom right is just simple rendering using cross-hatching.

Week 3: Subject matter

We got "shoe" as our subject, applying what we have learnt and practiced into practical use.
FAILED :u
Week 4: Landscape drawing

By using Chinese ink and brush, we were asked to draw a piece of landscape. After that, using a pen we add on details onto our dry painting.
My reference image for my landscape drawing.
I am still trying to find this piece that I lost....So sorry for all the inconvenience.
Week 6: Final ---> Ink pen + Watercolour/Poster colour

We combine our knowledge gained during basic drawing class and colour study onto our piece of drawing for the final assignment. Knowledge on perception and angles are also applied to create 3D typography.
This is my reference. The artist has much more amazing 3D typography drawings.
I practised a little bit before sketching my final design. I altered a little from the reference I found.
