"OVER THE GARDEN WALL"
It's a cartoon I recently watched and fell head over heels for it after that. 100% would recommend if you are interested in mysterious happenings, spiritual beings and vague humour. Also cavity inducing cuteness.
These are try out sketches I did to get myself familiar with the characters' designs.
When I got more used to drawing in this similar style, I explore a bit more with Wirt's (main character) expressions and messed with pen and art line.
This was supposed to be the front cover.
I bought a book for reference. I ripped it apart and took out the pieces one by one. For experimentation.
A few mistakes when sending my pages to the print shop. :(
I forgot to stick the background pieces to the white spaces here. Personal Miss. >.<
The print shop forgot to cut ALL FOUR SIDES. :\ I told them to...???
Personal Miss. I didn't estimate the gap between the covers and the bind. Where's the undo button...
Nothing wrong whatsoever.
Not all pages have a pop up, and the pop ups are really small too... but at least I enjoyed making all of them~
That's pretty much it for my FIRST OFFICIALLY PRINTED BOOK. :D
I'm so happy that I could turn a blind eye to all those obvious and glaring mistakes... TvT
