William Addison Dwiggins a.k.a. W.A.D. the Father of Graphic Design (coiner?)

It has been ~93 years since the term 'graphic design' is introduced to our community. Thanks to the great graphic designer himself - William Addison Dwiggins, the person who gave this wonderful profession a name.

Dwiggins' most widely known typefaces through the ages:
1928 Metro
1935 Electra
1938 Caledonia

His works ranged from classical traditional (Goudy & Rogers) to the new typography of Tschichold (Metro). Dwiggins was infamous for being a highly literate book designer.

For our first task, we have to design a name card inspired by one of Dwiggins' many beautiful designs.
I am especially enamoured by Dwiggins' Marionette series.
These are my sketches after researching Dwiggins' designs.
My chosen designs:
This is the one I settle for.
This is the alternate design.
