Rebranding Exploration

For our final project, we need to rebrand an existing brand of our choice. I chose my mum's florist business, and decided to make it much more sweeter and approachable to the new generation.

This is how my mum's name card looks like before my rebranding. Her logo is the hearts and ribbon on top of the card.

On the back of her card are details on the services provided and a simple flower messages in both English and Chinese.

I tried to input her motto into my rebranding, "make your heart sweet". I decided to create a logo based off a heart shape, and flowers blooming inside it. I did not choose red because it is too passionate, whereas pink is much more sweet and lovable.

Reference for the closest shade of pink suitable.
Trying out the shapes of the heart.
First batch of experiment.
Second batch of experiment.
Trying out different composition for the final logo outcome. I selected the third logo as my final choice.
Front of my card. Simple and straight to the point. It also makes the heart stand out.
Much more on the details about the business on the back. Also very straightforward with little distractions. The flowers at the sides act as borders to make the whole composition feel solid and in position.
Fonts used:
Vivaldii Italic, BellMT, ScriptMT Bold, Times New Roman, Mongolian Baiti

Colours used:
Pink: Being a tint of red, pink also affects us physically, fueling a passion inside us that is soothing instead of stimulating. Pink is a powerful colour, psychologically, it represents the feminine principle and survival of the species. It is nuturing and physically soothing.

Green: The complementary colour for any flora combination. It represents nature and relaxation. Being in the center of the colour spectrum, it is the colour of balance. We are reassured by the colour because it represents nature, our Earth.

Blue: The colour of the mind that is essentially soothing.I used a softer, lighter shade of blue along with a glitter overlay to stimulate the mind's concentration. To stand out in such a mild way that it is not going to become the center of attention, merely letting the viewer focus on what it has to offer.

Principles used:
Emphasis: The heart that is slightly larger than the font grabs attention.

Balance: The font is balanced evenly to avoid heavy top and light bottom. The two flowers to the side act as borders to envelop the information and to establish a ground.

Harmony: The colours are in harmony with each other, each representing parts of nature.
